Purdue University is located in West Lafayette on the banks of the Wabash River. The university is well known for its engineering and aviation schools but offer over 200 other areas of study. Purdue has several division I NCAA athletic teams, including football, basketball, wrestling, and cross country. Purdue has produced sports stars, astronauts, Nobel Prize winners, Pulitzer Prize winners and CEO’s of fortune 500 companies.

Downtown Lafayette is loaded with things to do, eat and see. There are three distinct areas in downtown; Chauncy Village is located in the western end of downtown between Purdue University and the Wabash waterfront. Chauncy Village offers shopping and dining with a large variety of services such as barber shops, bookstores, convenience stores, clothing shops, banking and restaurants that are geared towards the Purdue student body. The Wabash Riverfront spans across the eastern and western banks of the Wabash River and is connected by the John Myers Pedestrian Bridge. Other attractions in this district include Riehle Plaza, Tapawingo Park, and Wabash Landing. There are many small businesses located in this district, especially shops that cater to hobbies and crafts. Finally to the east, you will find Lafayette’s Arts and Market District. Here you will find several museums and galleries including the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette. Other great destinations include the Lafayette Brewing Company and the Lafayette Farmers Market.
